The right image unlocks the door to popularity, boys, success, opportunity ... acceptance.
What if the mask was stripped away?
What if you never had the ‘right’ image to begin with?
Is there more to you than meets the eye?
God thinks so.
Your beauty should not come from outward adornment, such as braided hair and the wearing of gold jewelry and fine clothes. Instead, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God’s sight. -1 Peter 3: 3-4
Reflections is an empowering journey to the source of identity and self worth.
Bombarded daily with images of the cultural ideal of beauty, it’s no wonder that as women and girls, we have begun to compare ourselves to these images, only to fall short. But whose idea of beauty is this anyway? And why do we feel the pressure to conform?
What is true beauty?
These and other questions will be explored through teaching and workshops presented by facilitators and professionals from the fashion and beauty industries.
The beauty myth will be exposed by:
- hair stylists
- cosmetologists
- wardrobe stylists
- models
- photographers
These specialists will share the tricks of the trade that create the illusions we see every day in the media.
Through biblical teaching, we will explore what God has to say on the matters of beauty and self worth.
